Valentines Gifts

Find your perfect match.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, making it the perfect moment to find a piece of jewelry for your loved one. Gifting jewelry is always sentimental, and there’s nothing more romantic than that.

However, Valentine’s Day in Japan is different from how it’s celebrated in the United States and some other countries in a few ways:

In Japan, women give gifts to men, whereas, overseas, couples usually exchange gifts. While gifts such as flowers, dinner, grand gestures, or jewelry may be common abroad, in Japan, it’s all about chocolate!

That’s where White Day comes in—a special day in Japan celebrated on March 14th, when men gift women in return. White Day wasn’t established until the 1980s when the Japanese National Confectionery Industry Association introduced this "reply day" to encourage men to show appreciation for the Valentine’s gifts they received. The name "white" symbolizes purity and innocence.

These days, many Japanese women are redefining Valentine’s traditions. New gifting trends include:

    • Jibun-choco: chocolates you buy for yourself.
    • Tomo-choco: gifts for friends and family.
    • Honmei-choco: a heartfelt treat for a significant other.

If you’re thinking of gifting jewelry this Valentine’s Day—whether it’s for yourself, your partner, a close friend, or someone special—here are some thoughtful ideas!

Birthstones

For a personalized gift, birthstone jewelry is an excellent choice! Each stone has its own unique meaning, like strength or protection. With options like necklaces, rings, and earrings, birthstone jewelry is a gift that can be cherished and worn daily as a reminder of love.

Kanji

Another meaningful option is from our Kanji collection. You can engrave your favorite Japanese character, word, or even your name! The possibilities are endless. For more customization ideas, click here.

Sakura

Sakura, or cherry blossoms, symbolize love, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life—making them a beautiful and meaningful choice for Valentine’s Day. In Japan, sakura blooms represent renewal, hope, and the beauty of impermanence. Gifting sakura jewelry is a way to celebrate the start of a beautiful journey together while cherishing every moment. For those who love Japanese culture, it’s also a treasured and iconic symbol.
