Why Kanji jewelry is special

Kanji or 'japanese characters' are logographic characters. Each character represents a word or a meaning which were adopted by Chinese characters along with hiragana and katakana; which make up three alphabets of the Japanese language.

Kanjis are visual expressions of ideas. One character can hold centuries of history and cultural significance. When wearing a piece of kanji, it can symbolise a powerful statement. When wearing a Kaji ring or a necklace, you're not just wearing a design - you are wearing a story.

How to choose your kanji

a. Choose by Meaning

  • Words like 愛 (love), 勇 (courage), 幸 (happiness), 和 (harmony). Choose a word that has meaning or a value that you live by.

b. Choose by Personal Connection

  • A kanji from your name (either in Japanese or phonetically adapted).
  • A place name, a personal milestone, or something from your heritage.

c. Choose by Symbolism

  • Many kanji are connected to nature, animals, or elements — like 花 (flower), 龍 (dragon), 海 (sea).
  • These can reflect personality traits or something you feel drawn to.

d. Choose for Motivation

  • Inspiring words to remind you of a goal 夢 (dream), 勝 (victory), 希 (hope).

Tips on wearing your jewelry

  • Double check the meaning of the kanji - many have multiple interpretations.
  • Consider how it will look engraved if you are going for a necklace.
  • Keep size in mind - some designs like the Hidden Samurai ring fit up to four characters.
